Leading you Astray?" |
"We naturally associate democracy, to be sure, with freedom of action, but freedom of action without freed capacity of thought behind it is only chaos."
How true this was then, and how true it still is today. We, in America, live in perhaps the freest conditions in the freest society in the history of the world. Despite this advantage, something is lacking: Freedom of the capacity of thought. If you look closely, you will find that it may be your professor who is leading you astray. Seldom do most of us think "my professor is biased," but think again, your professor is about 72% likely to have a liberal background.
What has education become other then rote recitation of facts from your professor (though some of these so-called "facts" are questionable at best)? Ask yourself: "does my professor have one of these agendas: 1) To get to the top of their field through research and/or 2) To teach their students to think like them?" The problem with number one is that your professor often is left with less of a desire to better their students, but rather to better their own professional standing. The problem with number two is that your professor may be wrong! Too many students blindly follow thinking "my professor is part of a well known college staff, so he must be right." With the Washington Post reporting that "72 percent of those teaching at American universities and colleges are liberal," do you not worry as a student that 72% of what you are learning may be misinformation or at least only half the story? Is it not your duty as a student to seek objective truth, and is it not your professor's mission to present all sides of a story? At Liberal-education.com, we think that all school and teachers should aim at presenting objective facts.
The sad fact is that your professor is in all likelihood happy to promote this mindset. Is this any coincidence?
A USA TODAY/MTV/Gallup Poll of registered voters 18 to 29 years old shows Democrat Barack Obama leading Republican John McCain by 61%-32%, the most lopsided contest within an age group in any presidential election in modern times. Sixty-one percent of students are liberal, and 72% of their professors are liberal.
Shocking? It looks like the left is winning the hearts and the minds of people by infiltrating college staff members and getting the Marxist word out to students. We at liberal-education.com believe that this tide needs to shift. But how do we do it? Students must be informed that the left is not right, and that there are other ways to think. Furthermore, liberal-education.com is designed to promote this knowledge by allowing you to see if other students think your professor might be biased, thus allowing you the freedom to choose what you will learn.
