Why
Vouchers?
A voucher is essentially a sum of money given to a parent by the government to send their children to any school of the parent's choice. The money could also be given in the form of a tax break equivalent to tuition costs. The premise behind a voucher is that it allows for more parental control of a student's education. This benefit is subsequently met by another, namely an increase in competition on all levels of education. As public schools are forced to compete with all other forms of school (private, charter, home, etc.) due to increased parental choice, public schools are induced to perform to the peak of their abilities. You might use the analogy that Magic Johnson was a great basketball player, but if it were not for the competition of Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics, Johnson would not have been induced to play to his utmost ability. In essence vouchers force schools to be their best, or to close their failing doors.
Will Vouchers Increase Your Freedom?
The idea is that of personal freedom. Currently, schools do not
have to compete and thus, there is no reason for them to perform
better. The idea is simple. If you have only one option in regard to school you are left in a situation of
powerlessness. It is the same everywhere in the government. Do you
feel as if you get the type of service you demand from the post office?
How about from medicare or social security? The government has cornered the market; they are
a monopoly in education and seem hell bent on maintaining that monopoly. Since the schools are a
monopoly, when parents complain, what happens? The government simply pacifies parents by
pumping more taxpayer money into schools. The result? See below:

What is Liberal-education.com's answer?
The answer is to privatize schools and get the government out of
the education business. The facts speak for themselves. The more
government money and involvement, the lower the student
achievement. Private schools that often run of far less money, frequently produce vastly superior results. This is equally true of State Universities whos private cousins greatly out perform them.
Put the power back into the hands of students and
parents so that they may decide the course of their own education. When people
have a right to decide what they want out of their education,
everyone will benefit. When you can decide who your school and your professor are you are bound to succeed.
"My education, My professor, My choice"
The facts remain the same. Students are scoring lower on exams, and the
schools are getting more of our money. Is this the solution we
are really looking for? Currently, our economy is sinking. We are
becoming more Socialistic, and we are not producing the types of
quality students we will need to fix this problem in the future. Individual freedom for each student
to decide the course of his or her own education is paramount to our future as a nation.
